Mark O'Connor's An Appalachian Christmas Eugene Concert reviews
Mozart & Martinis
On Friday night, my husband and I quite enjoyed the performance of the first Mark O'Connor's An Appalachian Christmas Mozart & Martinis that we attended. The Martini part, however, was very unorganized, to say the least. There were so many people milling around inside the door that it was impossible to locate the bar. We stood in a long line and discovered that there were three bars set up downstairs. We were then informed about a fourth bar upstairs. The lines were all long and confusing because the drink specials were not visible until you reached the front of the line. People took their time discussing with the bartender which cocktail they wanted, causing a back-up that delayed the symphony's start. My suggestion is to have someone at the door selling tickets for the number of cocktails you wish to purchase upon entry, along with a list of the selection. You can then proceed to the MARKED bars and exchange a ticket for each drink. This way, the bartender can focus on making cocktails without having to handle change or dirty money. I would consider returning for this event if it were a bit more organized.
